Nuremberg
I thought this was an amazing picture . Those 3 dots in the center aisle are hitler and his 2 top guys ( i forget the names ) heading up to the gigantic stage with row after straight row of germans saluting them or more likely him . Heres a short synopsis of these nazi rallies in the city of Nuremberg. I was looking up hitlers film maker this morning and found this page ( i forget and anyway cant spell her name , Leni something ) . Heres the site , its fascinating :

Bryan Ferry got into huge trouble over here for saying that he found the Nazi iconography beautiful and seductive , but i know what he meant
Alex , the nazis were brilliant with this stuff . Enough so to seduce an entire nation ( granted it was a bunch of nutty germans ripe for a messiah ) to believe it's screwy ideas . And to even die for these ideas . I don't know the guy you mentioned but hes right about these huge rallies .Unfortunately you still can't say anything remotely positive about any aspect of the nazis without being scorned as a nazi sympathizer . It's a shame people are so closed minded to think that way but it's the way it is . In a hundred years people might be more clear headed about it . heres a quote from the article I ran along with the photo :
"I am beginning to comprehend," he wrote, "some of the reasons for Hitler's astounding success. Borrowing a chapter from the Roman [Catholic] church, he is restoring pageantry and color and mysticism to the drab lives of 20th Century Germans. This morning's opening meeting...was more than a gorgeous show, it also had something of the mysticism and religious fervor of an Easter or Christmas Mass in a great Gothic cathedral. The hall was a sea of brightly colored flags. Even Hitler's arrival was made dramatic. The band stopped playing. There was a hush over the thirty thousand people packed in the hall. Then the band struck up the Badenweiler March...Hitler appeared in the back of the auditorium and followed by his aides, Göring, Goebbels, Hess, Himmler and the others, he slowly strode down the long center aisle while thirty thousand hands were raised in salute."
