A Clown trigger again
This picture is of a large Clown Trigger on the reef in nature . For anyone who hasn't done any diving on reefs ( or anywhere for that matter ) I highly reccomend it . I havent done it in years or to any great extent but when I was younger I used to do a bit of skin diving ( no tank, just a snorkel) in the keys and some scuba diving (with a tank ) in the bays around long island. It's a visit to a very strange alien world .

His fins look disproportionately small as compared to his body.
Allan, There are many sea life sanctuaries here in the state. I've made many a snorkeling trip with bags of frozen peas. The most vibrantly colorful parrot fish and seemingly zillions of species would swim right up and pluck the pea out of my fingers. I remember once the schools were so massive and fish so huge I felt terrified by the sheer density and power of them swimming and surrounding me. How did you develop such a fondness for fish? Do you still have your tanks? Sarai
I dont know where the fish thing comes from . I did grow up living on the water and had done some "fishing " as a kid but I was never all that thrilled with catching and killing fish which is basically what fishing is . I was more interested in watching them so of course fish tanks made sense . I do still have that big tank ( 265) with only 2 salt water fish in it . I also have a partially empty and slowly leaking tank in my kitchen ( 55 gallon ) that had been a fresh water tank . My plans are as follows if I stay here . I replace the kitchen tank with one that doesnt leak and make it into a saltwater tank . Move the 2 fish into it and then drain the big tank . Clean it and switch it over to a fresh water tank with superb lighting and lots of vigorous plants and fresh water fish of course . I can do none of this till I have lots of time on my hands ( maybe this summer ) and some spare dough to toss out on what are actually useless things . we shall see but I have to do something at some point . this half empty thing in my kitchen is depressing and the big tank is just plain stupid to have it as it is . By the way , reefs are amazing and yes the fish life on them is equally amazing . later . allan
