Fire Island walkway

This is typical of a way between towns (often miles) on Fire Island. Most people go by water instead on the bay side of the island . Amazing this area has existed as it has over the years. It could of been over grown with housing , very expensive housing . Now it's NAtional Sea shore and will never be developed . Only the existing towns remain and there is even some deal if those houses are destroyed by storm they can't be replaced and it reverts back to beach .
