Apparantly a creature much like "yeti" actually did exist . This being a statue of what it was thought to be like created from fossil evidence. Little is known of this species that is thought to have died out anywhere from millions to hundreds of thousands of years ago depending on who you talk to . I just learned about this today after reading an article on Sasquach (big foot) on AOL . Believers in Big Foot summize that it is this animal that actually never did go extinct but fled instead to remote areas to get away from the upcoming humans who even in their earliest years were terrible killers of all around them . It would be great to find one of these things alive today .

This is nice . a house for sale at Gilgo Beach

This house over at Gilgo , the ocean beach I had been visiting a few weeks ago is for sale . They are asking 675 which isnt bad considering it's location . It has 6 bedrooms . You can see the ocean from the second floor and thats the great south bay behind it . You can see long island way in the distance . This house is located on one of the barrier islands that form the many bays of long island , i forget it's name and it doesnt matter .

another old ultra van for sale , 1969

The white one I found on the net today . It doesn't run and thats fine but its in washington state and thats not fine . The blue one I ran a picture of already . It's in texas which isnt good either and of course also doesn't run . The white one the guy wants 1700 for and the blue one the guy wants 1500 for . Both are great prices but getting either to long island would be prohibitive in cost so I will never own either of them . Eventually an ultra van will come along that is closer to where I am .

a vintage motor coach, needs some work . a huge thing like this would be fun to buy with a few other people and take a 6 month tour of america everyone chipping in for fuel . it gets about 7 mpg . Then sell the damn thing . allan

The red house in West Virginia

I spoke with (emailed ) the realtor today about the interior pictures I had requested of this very interesting house in the mountains of West Virginia . She said she had them and asked for my address and will send them to me in the regular mail . I guess someone didn't have a digital camera . Thats fine tho . I have a scanner in my printer and if i can figure it out i will scan the pictures and print them here . If I can't figure it out I wont print them . So this prodject is still on and I'm most interested in seeing the interior of this most interesting house that is exactly my style of place . allan

These things have full bathrooms with a shower and of course a refrigerator and a stove and generally a microwave . Sometimes a freezer too . They are quite livable as far as I'm concerned . allan

Another possibility

This thing is an older Toyota "motorhome " . In my research on motorhomes I happen to discover these . They are fairly cheap for an older one , 4 to 6 grand or so . Apparantly they get about 20 miles to a gallon so thats good and being Toyotas they should hold up well and in the case of a break down parts and service would be easily available . The problem with the other more "outre" motorhomes I've been researching is if you have a serious breakdown getting back on the road in some remote area might be damn near impossible . That shouldn't be a problem with one of these suckers . Again , just another idea in case I decide to get back on the road after a good 30 year absence from traveling by motor vehicle . Personally , I think travel by road is the way to go and it really gives you an idea of what America is all about and what a huge country it is . I'll do more research but at the moment this is the "motorhome of the day " . allan

I thought this was an amazing picture . Those 3 dots in the center aisle are hitler and his 2 top guys ( i forget the names ) heading up to the gigantic stage with row after straight row of germans saluting them or more likely him . In need of restoration

I found this 67 Ultra Van in texas in an ad on the web . The guy is looking for 1500 and I'd bet he would take less. If this thing was on long island it would be in my driveway already . It likely needs a complete restoration which Bill and I could work on over the next few years . I would have Eric ,my amazing crack mechanic rebuilt the engine and check out all the rest of the mechanical stuff , Then track down a place for a reasonable paint job . Bill and I could easily refurbish the interior if it needs it and I would guess it may very well does . But alas , bringing this thing here from south texas would be rediculous and costly . allan
