An odd picture
This picture from the trial of the kid who killed the principle I just found to be an oddity . The tough cop with the chic purple gloves and the tiny toy like pistol is self explanatory in it's oddness. allan

i believe the gloves are purple to signigy that they are nonlatex and powder free, but i could be wrong. but you're right, the gun looks odd in his big meaty paws.
i have a relation who was married to an unstable man. one day she was at work and he called her to say he was going to kill himself, then on the phone with her, he shot himself. however, as it was a .22, he lived through it. he picked up the fallen phone and said "well, that didn't work, hold on a second" went and got a bigger gun, and shot himself a second time and that did the trick. i'm not sure if there's a lessont o be learned except that it's a horrid way to treat someone else. my relation hasn't been "right" since.

Thats interesting about the glove color and you might very well be right .
I once heard a 22 shot into the head often wont do the trick . It's quite a small slug .
I also read a story once where a 22 caliber slug shot into someones head ( I forget if it was a suicide or not ) actuall traveled around the inner surface of the skull and did almost no damage to the brain .
Another odd thing I saw years ago and I will find the picture was this guy during the construction of the railroads out west who had an 8 foot iron rod accidently enter an eye and go half way thru his head causing only blindness in the affected eye and some skull damage in the back .
The rod was removed and the man was back to work in days on laying track . ( this happened in the 1800s by the way when men were men !)
